Business consulting is offered to all our loan applicants and borrowers in the areas of business planning, financial projections, and loan readiness. Assistance is available in English and Spanish.
Our team also refers businesses and homeowners to other business and community resources to address specific needs you may have. Refer to the services below.
Trainings
We offer free online group training for business owners in bookkeeping and financial statements, QuickBooks, small business taxes, and credit building. Our classes are designed for entrepreneurs with little or no accounting experience, providing you with basic knowledge and practical tools to help you improve the financial management of your business.

The Business Equity Initiative
We also invite Black- and Latino-owned small businesses with annual revenues of at least $500,000 to apply for the Business Equity Initiative (BEI.) BEI is a high-touch strategic advisory program to help businesses that wish to scale and grow.

Merrimack Valley Strong
MCCI small business loan applicants and borrowers with businesses based in the Merrimack Valley can also access free one-on-one business advising and specialist support through Merrimack Valley Strong. Participants in the program are matched with a business advisor who provides guidance and resources to help address immediate needs. Functional specialists offer further expertise in finance and accounting, marketing, operations, human resources, law, and digital transformation.
Merrimack Valley Strong serves businesses in the following communities: Amesbury, Andover, Boxford, Georgetown, Groveland, Haverhill, Lawrence, Merrimac, Methuen, Newbury, Newburyport, North Andover, Rowley, Salisbury, and West Newbury.
